Obituary for Juanita Janet McKeon

Juanita Janet McKeon passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2018 surrounded by family, with her smile and charm that stayed with her till the very end. Juanita was born March 18, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Gladys (Sweet) Moonen. She moved to Mount Vernon, Washington after graduation in 1949 and attended Skagit Valley College. Juanita met and married Don McKeon in 1952.

She was a USAF officers wife and raised six children. She then embarked on a career as an executive secretary at Alf Christiansen Seed Company. Juanita retired in 1997 after 25 years of devoted service to the company. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, and enjoyed traveling, playing bridge with friends, clogging, swimming and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don McKeon; her parents, Robert and Gladys Moonen; her brother, Don; grandson, Ryan McKeon; and great grandson, Marcus Nagel. Juanita is survived by her children, Pam (Ed) Beaty, Pat (Cindy) McKeon, Pete(JoJo) McKeon, Paula(Brady) Longnecker, Perry(Bonnie) McKeon and Philip McKeon; grandchildren, Jason and Jeff McKeon, Heidi and Chris Longnecker, Shianna McKeon, Casey and Shane McKeon, and Stacey (Mark)Nagel, along with four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at Kern Funeral Home on Friday, March 30, 20178, at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow in the Kern Social Room. Final resting place with be Mount Vernon Cemetery.
